I have to talk POLISH!

Do you trim your polish's crest?

How do you do that without hurting them?
i don't if you were asking me, all of mine are hatchery stock some don't have very good crests. but even if they did i wouldn't be cause that is what i love about them and i keep them penned up so nothing can kill them.

I'm going to trim my buff laced polish pullet's crest today. She has an eye infection.

I imagine it'd be the same as trimming any other feathers. As long as you don't cut a blood feather, it won't hurt them. I just trimmed all of the butt fluff of my cochin bantam pair yesterday to improve fertility. It didn't bother them at all.

I have silver laced polish and love them! I love their unusual crests and their cooky personalities. I am selling hatching eggs from them this spring and can not wait to spread their beauty. www.theweddlefarm.com
You should place an ad in the classified ad section, you can actually get infractions for posting in the general forums. I am only warning you because I made that mistake before I knew better.
