My week old eggs in the bator: candled all nine, tossed 5. 3 were barren, one had a bloodspot, one didn't look right, and exploded in the garbage can. So I have 4 left, and one was questionable. I am bummed.

My last two hatches of bantam Polish only 4 hatched in the first batch and 2 in the second batch, so I feel your pain!

They were shipped.
Well, they are not the best eggs, in fact, not good quality at all. The last 12 got 2 chicks, one died at 11 weeks, the other got killed by a hawk. But I ordered from the same person on Ebay, because they are rare, and those chicks were adorable and so attached to me and tame, they would nap with me, LOL. BTW, they were Creles.

So I tried again. If I get 3 chicks, I'd be happy. If not, a very very sweet person offered me some eggs in the spring..

BTW, I would like to add that I bought eggs from sutillman (sp?) here on this thread. They were gold laced polish, and they were excellent quality, a dozen, all hatched but 1, they were healthy beautiful birds. Sadly, they all died because I had no idea that I had Marek's in my flock, had I known I could have vaccinated. And Sue's layers must have never had an exposure, so the chicks didn't even have antibodies. They were clean. Sad , sad, thing. They were absolutely beautiful, and so healthy.

how terrible!!


ive been noticing my two little polish sweethearts sneezing A LOT lately. what should i do for them? I was letting them sleep in the house where it was warm at night thinking that might help them fight off whatever they have but it didnt work and they didnt like being away from the others.

that being said it makes me worry about all of my new babies. theyve still a few months before they go outside but sheesh.


anywhoo....I am kind of bummed because i ordered two white crested blues and they only sent me one and its gigantic compared to the other polish

i was hoping to get pairs of each and at least for the blue to be a lovely lady. oh well.
