I have to talk POLISH!

I have 3 Polish hens that are nice size and plump. I have 2 of their "offspring" , the roo being totally unrelated and a different color, but was a nice size. The 2 offspring have always been a bit smaller and a bit leaner. One especially. She's always been that way. I just don't understand how robust parents can produce far less robust offspring.

Well, I finally got to do it. Dumped 16 Polish eggs so far in the 'bator, I'm going to toss a few more in there from today's production. Hopefully I'll make it to 20. I'm willing to risk adding some in 2 days late. I've done it before.

Anyway, these are due to hatch Valentine's day. About 25% of them or more will be Tolbunt, the rest will be either splits or other odd colors I'll likely sell. (from the houdan cross parentage) I'm sure I'll run into some poorly laced, double-laced, and just plain smudgy colored birds because of out-crossing to a non-laced bird but I'm well aware of it.

I'm expecting to hatch out a lot of frizzles too. I might, just might, keep one.


Joining them will be my crested EE eggs, second gen, Very excited.

New to this thread. I have white crested black polish.




I also have some white bearded polish hens in with them. What do you think the mix of the white crested black roo w/ the white polish hens would look like?

Also, I have a young silver laced polish roo, and a splash polish roo as well (they are not in w/ my breeders). What would these two look like with the white hens or white crested black hens. Anyone know? I can only assume the splash roo w/ a white hen would work the same as it does with silkies. Any words of advice would be helpful. I am trying to figure out who to keep and who to sell.
