Nice lacing.

Good to see that. I hate seeing poor girls with bare or ratty looking backs. My Buff Ameraucana before her molt looked absolutely horrendous from "practice mating" but I didn't get her a saddle because she was moved over to a completely rooster-less pasture, so, she just had to wait and molt it out. So glad she did though.

Well, speaking of molts, I was coming to ask about having feathers grow back in different colors. My Golden laced pullet (nearly a hen) is growing feathers in her crest with white tips, like Tolbunts. I know Tolbunts get more white after each molt, and my pullet didn't seem to have much of a molt yet, so I thought she might start to look more Tolbunt. It's not just a couple of feathers either, I'm guessing almost ten because they aren't completely visible yet.

Yep, it happens.

Silver Laced hens are known well to get more and more solid white feathers in their crest each molt. Gold Laced, I don't know how common it is especially in good stock, but I do know that one of my Gold hens also has a little white in the tips of her crest, similar to a Tolbunt. I'm assuming she too will get more as she gets older.

Thanks I think she is very pretty!!

I'm hopeing to get some more polish girls this spring so she won't be the only polish in my flock ever since i got her i have fallen in love with the breed. When my chicken fever first started I thought i would just get one chicken for each of my girls to show at the local show for 4 H. Since i didn't know much about differnt breeds i wasn't to particular about breed and i didn't want to by 25 chicks so i sent my DH to the feed store and that is how we got the two bantam chickens then a friend told me about byc and i saw a polish on here and loved how they looked, and i still need one more chicken for one more daugher so i had a friend say they were ordering some buff orphs from Mcmurry and they would let me add to there order and so i order 2 Sl polish, sadly one got killed by an opossium (i think) killed her right thougt the wire of the pen i allways make sure to lock them up at night now. They also said i could have the free bee that came with their orphs and it turnd out to be a roo which from what i have herd is not a rare thing. I didn't want to put her all by her self cause i thought it might make her sad so i'm hopeing the saddle will work.
