I have to talk POLISH!

After reading through some of the standards information on the official polish site that I found on line I think her body isn't quite the right shape, carriage. She isn't as... tall as I think they are supposed to be. She is like a standard duck not a runner duck if that analogy helps. I have to read a bit more but I think her wings also fall too far. The primaries land past her body, more like a Mille Fleur. Her chocolate color is fantastic and her head is correct as far as I can tell. Not quite sure about her tail. I will try to get more pictures. I would really love to have a few of these that have nice round caps. A few I have seen are rather... spikey. I love the cuckoo/crele look!! Oh my. Where oh where are the breeders selling eggs or stock near me??

Yes---looks like the japanese....She sure is cute though. Looks awfully 'purdy!

I saw some on Dick Horstmans page---google dick horstman poultry---sells hatching eggs for the White crested black, looks like his show really well and have won some awards. I thought about getting some to hatch but will likely wait until next spring, it is getting a bit late in the year to set eggs for me. his site says they lay big too, that is always a bonus!

Thanks for the recommendation. There is actually two w/c blacks of show quality here in Maine but I really wanted some other colors. I'll look though. I like bearded too.

I have a funny, but blurry pick for y'all! I have 3 polish chicks and the one with the crooked toe (for those of you that may remember my previous pics) she is a nut, totally inquisitive, almost daredevil like. She looks like a roadrunner and acts like one too. Im waiting for her to go "beep-beep", instead of cheep-cheep. Anyways, she was really interested in her own photo on my iPhone, I flipped the camera around so she could see herself.

That is priceless, I love the whole dorkiness of the Polish breed, I have caught mine doing far more ridiculous things than my other breeds :) Gotta love em! Thanks for sharing that :D

Here is the photo of my Silver Laced Black Polish girl who has suddenly gone white. This has happened in the last month. Wish I could find an older photo. But she was all black with silver lacing.

Her pom used to be mostly black with white tips. And her tail is all white now. Anyone seen this effect before?

Would love to see the before pictures. I googled and couldn't even find anything on such a drastic change. I mentioned before that I had a chicken that was almost white with black feathered back with more grey all over her body but not this drastic.

How young is he? He is gorgeous!
I think I have a 2 month old chick that is a Roo, I can see the start of Waddles. What age can you tell, 3 months?
