I have to talk POLISH!

How young is he? He is gorgeous!
I think I have a 2 month old chick that is a Roo, I can see the start of Waddles.  What age can you tell, 3 months?

My roo started showing about 5-6 weeks. Was not sure, thought it might be a girl still. Friend took him, then it became really red right after that. Born 3/12/12, and by May 15 he had red wattles hanging down quite a bit. My girls are the same age and have nothing at all there.

My "Polinda" ....sigh...I wish it would either crow or lay an egg lol...
everyone keeps having conflicting opinions lol...its about 4 months old..

has NO comb at all...none...is this odd??? It has some pointy crest feathers...but some rounded too..

That sure looks like a girl to me. No red wattles at all.....plus I have seen hens with pointy crest feathers, Just the whole thing is round like a powder puff like yours, my money is on 'girl'! Good luck! She is very pretty :love

Here is the photo of my Silver Laced Black Polish girl who has suddenly gone white. This has happened in the last month. Wish I could find an older photo. But she was all black with silver lacing.

Her pom used to be mostly black with white tips. And her tail is all white now. Anyone seen this effect before?
So cool!! I hope it isn't a thyroid issue, and just hormones. Read this:

Its a dry outline of studies of ptarmigans. They regularly change color based on seasonal/hormonal changes. Just a thought. She is sooo pretty this way.

Have you changed her diet?

Most of what I've read suggests an external trigger and/or hormones.

Does anyone know where I can purchase some Tolbunt hatching eggs? My ds6 who never spends any of his money has decided for his birthday money he wanted to buy some Tolbunt eggs. I told him they are expensive but he says he really wants some.

Thank you for all the information I will look into it and see. We have not changed her diet at all. They have had the same food (Blue Seal organic Layer) since she was 20 weeks old. Hmm, hormones and seasonal changes - I actually dont think she has laid an egg in a while.

Thank you for your comments about her too. She is pretty the way she is. And no one (ie other chickens) is giving her grief for it.
