I have to talk POLISH!

Momagain, she looks like a pullet to me too. The crest feathers do seem a little pointy at the end, but the overall effect is the big round afro of a girl, not the dreadlocks of a boy. Keeping my fingers crossed for ya! (Hope you don't have to wait for an egg or a crow really, my Polish are the last to start laying . . . . . . it could still be awhile, LOL)

Does anyone have Self Black or Self Blue Polish?

Not self blue or black. I have never seen one in real life. An all black Polish would be cool.
I have wc blue, wc black, wc chocolate, wc cuckoo, wc white, buff laced and Tolbunt.

Could you post a few pics or direct me to a link that has pictures of your birds? I have a SL pullet and a w/c chocolate. I posted pics earlier and discovered today that my pictures weren't correct and neither was I. I thought her primaries pointed down, like a D'Anvers, or as another BYCer pointed out, Japanese fowl, but she just does that as a semi-squat when I get near her! Her wings are actually just right. Now I have to sneak a peek at her tail to know if she is worth breeding or not. I just love her chocolate color.

I have a self black cockerel (he has some leakage though). And I have a self black pullet with 2 white feathers in her crest. Someone said I could pull them and they may not grow back but I'm not showing them so I don't mind the frost job!

Hi, I'm new to all of this and hope you don't mind me asking what
self blue and self black is? Does this pertain to all breeds or just
polish? Tina

It's a single, uniform color throughout the feathers. So mine are not true "Self" Blacks because the cockerel has "leakage", another color that leaked into the feather color. My pullet is closer to a self black and would be a good example if I took her two white feathers out. I think Sunnydawn got some self black chicks from my eggs.

And no, it's not just in Polish.

If you click on the link to my Facebook page in my signature you will find pictures. I think I have around 100 pic of my Polish in my albums. All are SQ bantams except Tolbunt is large fowl and not an APA approved color.
