I have to talk POLISH!

Thank you. I am learning so much about the Frizzle genetic anomaly. I cannot have roosters here so I am not interested in breeding. I just want a small family of six hens, bantams: silkies smooth (although a sizzle would be cute I bet) and polish with Frizzle. The eggs would be small, but we would still eat them. Thank you for your recommendation. What do you do with the girls you choose not to show? Do you sell them? Do they intergrate well into other flocks? Do they become affectionate and familiar with their new owners? We are very attached to our girls (and our boys who moved to a friend/family farm last Friday).
I raise both Bantam and Large Fowl. I sell the birds I'm not going to keep either online on my website, at poultry shows, or meet ups. How well they fit in and how they behave at their new home depends on how they are handled I suppose.

Tell us again about crele. What would a gold laced over a bared make ? I want crele/project also

They are so pretty.
You get a dark version of the crele...I crossed mine...they are almost brown with some of the red coming through on the hackles...I did not really like it but...it is still something different!

At what age do Polish start laying? I got a little white egg today from my flock. Since the only white egg layers I have right now are 2 leghorn pullets and my polish pullet I have to wonder if the polish has started laying. My money is on one of the leghorns has started laying but I don't know how young Polish start laying so I can't rule Captain(Polish's name) out either. She is 18 weeks old right now, as are the leghorns.

ETA: What do I look for when it comes to figuring out when Captain is at POL? It's hard to see her crest so I don't know how easy it would be to see if it got redder and bigger like you look for in other breeds.

So far my one little bantam polish makes a very big egg for her size. I really don't remember her age at POL but there are also many variables to consider. Weather is a big factor. Many of us who live where it is hot are lucky to have 1/4 of our birds laying. I expect my pullets to start someday during the cooler weather and to continue through the winter since they start to lay so late.

In most of my breeds, when they start to squat, I can expect eggs from them.

I'm 99% sure that Captain, or polsih pullet is laying now. I got another little white egg today. Since both the egg from yesterday and today were the same size and my leghorns should lay large eggs I am assuming that Captain is laying now. I got a hand on her today and she seems to be squatting too. I cracked the eggs today to see if they were just wind eggs or not and they had all the components they were supposed to have (and were fertile). They tasted good too!
