I have to talk POLISH!

Bubbles was being difficult, and my dad ended up having to help hold her while I trimmed her feathers. Afterwords, Dad held her a while and sweet-talked her to make up for the experience. You can see from the pic, I wasn't able to trim much at all from her face, but at least now she can see a LITTLE better

Do you think she's a bantam? I never really considered that they might not be standard--this is my first year with Polish.

Is anyone working on a lemon cuckoo or lemon laced polish project? I have a lemon laced/cuckoo roo and no girls. I bred him to my buff girls and all the babies are buff.

lol no worries, I completely understand. XD I'd thought I'd ask since we've all noticed how much smaller the Polish are than our other birds, but our other birds are also big ol' lard butts so it's hard to tell if they're just really that small or the fat girls are just really that big. XD

Illia a very serious Polish breeder works to make her Polish broad and large breasted. They were at one point an all purpose breed and not just ornamental as they are listed in the hatcheries today. In my limited experience they are hardy and good layers but rather small in comparison to many other breeds.

My favorite other breeds are NNs which I have in LF and bantam and Ameraucans. The LF NN are hugh and if I had a LF Polish Rooster I would use him to make NNs with a modified crest type. And then I would like to add the blue/green egg color. I bet Illia has already bred some of these combinations.

First you want chickens for their eggs and sometimes meat, they when you learn that cross breeding is fun.

I have to say, I'm new to the whole talking-chicken thing and you're using a lot of abbreviations I don't understand. lol I am looking forward to experimenting with mixed chicks, though. ^_^
