I have to talk POLISH!

I don't have any pics yet, but I wanted to say that we got polish over the weekend!!! We got a pair of WCB (and that hen is the sweetest thing!) named Antony and Cleopatra, a buff laced pullet named Clara, and a gold laced cockerel named Caravaggio. All are standards. We're going to sell the GL cockerel when he gets older, but he was a freebie with the buff laced pullet.

I FINALLY got some good shots of my GL hen...and one of my roos~he's bearded-he cracks me up with the way he looks at you!

Erin the only hen

Only bearded I got...Woof-Man-Jack

How do you know that? None of my Polish have tails...the bigger boys keep plucking them out! Woof acts like a rooster, but hasn't crowed...? I would like to know for sure...I'm getting rid of some of the roos~I want to make absolutly sure...............thanks!
I have a roo, he doesn't crow either, at least not anymore( he did for 2 days). Has he heard another rooster? I don't know how to tell if they are roosters, they have no comb

you could always stick him with a female and see if you get fertile eggs

True...yes he's in a coop with other roos. I need to thin out my roos, I've been worried that we ended up with too many. They seem to be ok together, but my polish can't grow out their tails because the bigger ones pluck them clean. I don't want this many roos~the only reason I got the Polish to have a roo, well we ended up with 3 of the other batch. Kept ahold of all the chickens to see who was roo and who was hens. I've noticed my girls are getting really flighty because all the boys are coming of age

. It is going to be up to my daughter to who gets sold and who doesn't tho. All I am worried about is everyone being happy and lays eggs. But I do want to end up with at least one Polish roo..............

how old is it? It looks girly to me because it dosen't have any saddle feathers and it has a mostly rounded crest and the crest feathers are rounded a roo's are more pointy, Polish roosters do have combs they are smaller and v shape and hens if they have one you cant see them because of the crest. look at post 892 of this thread there is 5 moth old gold laced roo for you to look at and compare too looks a lot diffrent.

I looked at the pics my other boys look just like the gl. I wish my boys had tails like those...I see how wolf's head isn't pointy but rounded-just thought it was because its a bearded. The features do look henish -didn't know there was a thing as a bearded hen. My daughter is going to be thrilled!!
