Well after waiting for 11 weeks, I am completely convinced that I have 2 roosters, 6 hens and two undecided silkies (those are on another thread)
My Buff Orpington, Irene became Ivan quite early on as her comb and wattles grew HUGE! He is a very sweet affectionate rooster and pampers his girls and rounds them all up at night.
I am in the process of deciding to start calling Virginia Virgil. Virgil is not mean but he is completely unfriendly and nearly impossible to catch. He hates to be held, and I dont see him doting on the other chickens so much. I'm sad because he is the one chicken I was looking forward to the most since he is a silver laced wyandotte. He is going to be beautiful!
My question is, can I have both Roosters or should I rehome one? So far there is no competition or fighting. Neither is crowing. If I have to pick, I will pick Ivan.
Ivan
Virgil
(yes, I see the problem with my dog. Working on that! )
