I have very odd looking Barred Rocks....or do I? Guess who game.

Oh I'd be frosted too. We don't have a big flock, so we researched to make sure we were getting just what we wanted. I would *not* be happy if the birds I spent so much time (and resource$!) raising turned out to be an entirely different breed. Us accidentally getting straight run and having a bunch of roosters to give away this year was bad enough.
We found Wyandottes much like you, snobby. Ours were very much "mean girls" like the movie, and bullied meeker birds mercilessly. We ended up rehoming our Wyandottes due to it. I hope your girls turn a bit sweeter.
I only have one Wyandotte, and she is a sweetheart. Never gives any other hen any trouble. She has a crossbeak, but seems to be eating fine.

As these ladies get older, they're definitely getting more independent and segregated on their own. The Sussex are turning out to be pretty sweet. Especially Charlie-bird. They have a very friendly nature about them.

As beautiful as the GLW's are becoming, they get me a bit frustrated with their insistence on 'no touching' or picking up, but at least they follow the lead of the Sussex' to hang around me while I'm in the run since Im alwaysgood for a big handful of BSF grubs of which I bought them 30 lbs of from GrubTerra!. They haven't been mean....yet. There's always tomorrow, though!

My 2 GLW's can get pretty persnickety at times. It's part of the breed.

In my, admittedly limited (2 birds) experience, wyandottes are not big cuddlers. My current wyandotte (BLR) has pretty much never been one for touching. But she does seem to enjoy just hanging out next to me. She's been one of the sweetest birds in my flock, gets along with everyone. My first wyandotte (SLW) also disliked touch but she was a much more bossy hen.

My speckled Sussex were friendly enough but also not big on human touching. They did tend to pal around together, often close to but separate from the rest of the flock.
