I have zero chill - cockerel?

One of them is bigger and likes to really bump with Marshmallow. The other is very friendly though and likes to be held, so I feel like that makes it more of a tossup.
Those sorts of behaviors don't say much. Some pullets really like to play the chest bump game. Although people say that cockerels can be more friendly, I've not personally seen it in birds that young. Older birds is another matter and there h I have seen the trend; I think one of my 8+ month old cockerels would genuinely be happy to be carried around by me all day, but at a few weeks old his sister wanted more attention from me.

Thank you! Yeah, you're right. I almost moved them downstairs without it, but then when I moved them, they were stuck in the corner and I wasn't sure if they really wanted it, or were just traumatized!? Lol. They have started moving around and enjoying the space now, but I have noticed during the day, they do tend to keep to the edge of the warm circle anyway. I think they just want to soak it up at bedtime. :)

Meanwhile, the last three upstairs act like they are *always* cold! Lol

They are all four weeks by tomorrow or Thursday, so I was planning to shut it off by then anyway... I appreciate the nudge :)
Haha

My wife is always saying, turn the light off - they are almost fully feathered!

Me - "just a few more nights. They might need it, might get really cold"

I get it, the struggle is real 🤣

Yes! And plus, it's going down to 37 here tomorrow night! I'm like, see, they would freeze out there on their own!!! Lol

Well, literally *almost* freezing... I would like to think one of my broodier girls would stay down there on the floor with them and snuggle them in just fine. 😊 ...but I don't think I will chance it.

Discovering all the many joys of outdoor roostering. I think he is more curious about the hens, than they are interested in the chicks. Meanwhile, my poor broody ducks voiced their distress when I brought the chicks back in. 😢
