I heard a bluebird :)

We had 2 bluebirds visit everyday at our old house, I'd put out popcorn or crumbled cake/muffins/cereal whatever we had leftover for them to eat. They would fly in and grab some and off they'd go and within that same minute be back for another grab and this would continue til it was gone! They always were a pleasure to watch! Our new home we have minimal trees and surrounded by fields so we don't have alot of birds yet, I'll do the same though and put out feeders and houses this spring and hopefully they will come!!

I'll keep you posted. When I came home from work I could still hear it. I still can't find it, but have pin pointed which edge of the woods it's in. The good news it close to one of the houses I put up. Maybe I'll see it tomarrow

"My" blues hatch 4 or 5 batches a year. I put a box right in front of my kitchen window years ago, and its occupied every year. And in the fall, it is just wondrous to see flocks of the bluebird family come to the bird bath. They stay all year here. I already have a nest in the box for this year.

I even stayed home from work one day last year when I knew they were going to fledge. It was so cute to see them get up their gumption to fly out of the house and fly to the crepe myrtle about 30 feet away. I looooooove my blues.

I love my bluebirds... I have them each year sometimes in one house and sometimes the other. Sometimes the chickadees get one and the Bluebirds will take the one they don't want. This year the Blues won out. Last year was sad and brave. When the babies were still about a week away from coming out a hawk caught the mother. The father faught him but he took her. I thought oh poor babies now they will die too. But that brave father reared those little babies and led them into the woods. I feel sure it is them I see this year. There are 5 all together. They have been here for a bout 3 weeks now. I love their sweet songs in the mornings. Jean
