I am working with herbs and tinctures and other natural homeopathic remedies etc. Last year I had a duck get very sick very fast. She was free ranging with her flock and she just stared to crater. We did a quick search and for lack of anything better to come up with we gave her a concoction of warm water, molasses, bakers yeast, and colloidal silver. She perked up right away. She pulled through and is still motoring along. It was about 2 cups of liquid all together we may have gotten a tablespoon down her initially with a syringe then when she started making rapid improvement we put the rest of the solution in the feed and some acv in their water. I didn't really measure I'm bad for that honestly if it's a food type item. I can give rough measurements for it. So we'll say: 1 1/2 -2 cups of warm water
1/4 c molasses
1 tbs yeast
1/2 oz of colloidal silver (we get it in bulk from a friend but you probably don't need much more than a tsp or 2). Mix it well. Also note that colloidal silver shouldn't come in contact with metal spoons, bowls etc. So bear that in mind if you use this concoction.

Next I want to impart a tincture that can save you, a family member or fur/feathered friend a trip to the doctor or vet in case of illness. Calendula. It kicks butt! My 18 year old cat just came down with the icks. He got it this time last year as well. Last year we spent almost 3 weeks trying to get him better. This year with a little calendula (two drops in about two cups of homemade formula) He's bouncing back fast. Like this is day 2 and he's already moving about and visiting. My dog also came down with something earlier this spring and we gave her 5 drops of calendula in formula. She was completely better in less than 5 days. We saved the life of a stray kitten who came down with the same illness that my elderly cat had and another of it's litter mates. The one kitten died, it didn't get the calendula because I didn't know about the tincture properties until I was trying to feed it and it rallied just long enough to bite me and died shortly after. I got a massive infection in my hand. A few drops of calendula cleared it right up and it was very red and swollen. The second kitten who got the calendula, lived and was adopted by a friend. So save yourselves a lot of money and heartache research tinctures and wild crafting. It's definitely worth your time and health.

Hope this helps!!

Calendula is a type of marigold. You can actually grow it yourself and clip the flowers put them in a clean jar with alcohol (food grade like very strong vodka NOT isopropynol!) let it sit for 6 weeks in a cool dark cupboard. Or you can find a reputable holistic healer who also makes herbal tinctures.

Hello! I have a question.
My family has been using Colloidal Silver for years and have never heard that it shouldn't be in contact with metal. Is this a long term issue, or more immediate? We always take it from metal spoons.

I was told we should never let it come in contact with metal period. Personally there are some things I question but never get an appropriate answer to. Superstition or fact I don't know, but this is what I've been told by those who make it and sell it. If it works for your family it could be a superstition or maybe you're simply lucky. Kind of like if you ever walked to school in winter with wet hair and your mother would swear you'd catch your death and you would end up at school along with several of your friends and you'd have a frozen cap of hair and no ill effects. Other times your mother would warn you of something that you'd disregard and realize later that she was right. Where the truth lies on that one I seriously don't know. If you personally know someone who makes it, ask.
But regardless, I personally do not let it touch metal.

One thing our supplier prints on the bottle is to not let it mix with salt or salty liquids. Have you ever heard of this?
Ours is colloidal and ionic silver in deionized water.

Can you taste the silver? We've always heard that most folks can't taste it, but my sisters and I most definitely can. Sort of bitter and, well, silvery in the back of the mouth.

This thread piqued my curiosity so I looked up Colloidal Silver in the Chicken Health Handbook (Gail Damerow) and it states: (verbatim) "For chickens it can be used for eyes, skin, and upper respiratory tract. For eye infections put a couple of drops into the eye. For skin infections, apply drops, mist or a salve/ gel. For upper respiratory infections, place a couple of drops into the mouth or put a few drops on the chicken's nostrils for them to inhale. Repeat the treatment twice daily until the condition clears up. After treating the chicken internally, follow up with a probiotic to ensure an adequate population of beneficial bacteria in the digestive tract.
Although CS is highly toxic to most bacteria, fungi, protozoa and some viruses, it is nontoxic to chickens and humans, making it a safe and natural time-tested antimicrobial."

For your question relative to touching silverware, look on the container, call the customer service number and ask them or just use use a wooden or plastic spoon.

I've never heard of that. But yes I can definitely taste the silver. It's more metallic tasting to me, not as strong as iron but faintly metallic.
