I am working with herbs and tinctures and other natural homeopathic remedies etc. Last year I had a duck get very sick very fast. She was free ranging with her flock and she just stared to crater. We did a quick search and for lack of anything better to come up with we gave her a concoction of warm water, molasses, bakers yeast, and colloidal silver. She perked up right away. She pulled through and is still motoring along. It was about 2 cups of liquid all together we may have gotten a tablespoon down her initially with a syringe then when she started making rapid improvement we put the rest of the solution in the feed and some acv in their water. I didn't really measure I'm bad for that honestly if it's a food type item. I can give rough measurements for it. So we'll say: 1 1/2 -2 cups of warm water
1/4 c molasses
1 tbs yeast
1/2 oz of colloidal silver (we get it in bulk from a friend but you probably don't need much more than a tsp or 2). Mix it well. Also note that colloidal silver shouldn't come in contact with metal spoons, bowls etc. So bear that in mind if you use this concoction.
Next I want to impart a tincture that can save you, a family member or fur/feathered friend a trip to the doctor or vet in case of illness. Calendula. It kicks butt! My 18 year old cat just came down with the icks. He got it this time last year as well. Last year we spent almost 3 weeks trying to get him better. This year with a little calendula (two drops in about two cups of homemade formula) He's bouncing back fast. Like this is day 2 and he's already moving about and visiting. My dog also came down with something earlier this spring and we gave her 5 drops of calendula in formula. She was completely better in less than 5 days. We saved the life of a stray kitten who came down with the same illness that my elderly cat had and another of it's litter mates. The one kitten died, it didn't get the calendula because I didn't know about the tincture properties until I was trying to feed it and it rallied just long enough to bite me and died shortly after. I got a massive infection in my hand. A few drops of calendula cleared it right up and it was very red and swollen. The second kitten who got the calendula, lived and was adopted by a friend. So save yourselves a lot of money and heartache research tinctures and wild crafting. It's definitely worth your time and health.
Hope this helps!!
