To deal with the remaining loose ones, get the kids to pick up all the ones they can find, then cover the area over with something (sand? mulch? gravel?) to bury any remaining ones.
I wouldn't do anything to/with the hens unless one of them starts showing distress.

The scoundrels are eating them! we decided to check every half hour today and got 9 eggs, counting the three we caught them eating. Will be checking every 10 min starting tomorrow. We have rubber and ceramic eggs in the boxes. But they keep kicking the rubber ones out of the nests! LOL! These birds are sassy. But if they don’t stop we will have enchiladas, chicken noodle soup, and ground chicken! We told them so.

Have you seen the roll out nest boxes?

The eggs roll safely out of chicken reach.
I will link a few but there are tons of videos on how to make them.

His nest box roof is gross cause it is not slanted.

What are you feeding your hens? It's possible they need more protein in their diet. Granted they haven't in the past but they are getting older and you got some younger ones but I'm thinking try a higher protein feed and/or treats with high protein. I feed my girls Flock Raiser (20%) with Oyster Shells in a separate dish. Used to do the layer until I read & makes sense to me, how much energy it must take for them to lay an egg.

Is there any follow-up how are your chicks in the end I know this is been a few years now. But we just got our first flock of chickens and I remembered that last summer my daughter had an Orby kiddie pool that flipped over in the wind when we were drying them. I am afraid half our property is covered in dried orbeez.
