I read Americanas are a breed they only lay bluish eggs and easter eggers are mutts and lay all kinds of colors of eggs and then there are Aracanas which were the original breed that like the Americanas lay only bluish eggs. Mine are Americanas i got them from a special breeder who breeds pure Americanas.
if you got them from a breeder, odds are he/she knows what she's breeding and you're just spelling it incorrectly. Some people just feel the need to correct all things on the internet.
If I was a betting man, and you bought them from a breeder that was really breeding ameraucanas, I'd bet that's what you got, regardless of how you spell it. There are a LOT of people who spell it americana, ameracauna, ameraucana, etc etc. The actual correct spelling for the recognized breed is Ameraucana.
but just because you might have spelled it wrong doesn't mean you bought easter eggers.
Now that I've said that, I will say that there are unscrupulous people out there who will say they have one thing that's usually a little more valuable, but actually have something else. Now if the breeder was spelling it wrong, and he/she is an actual licensed breeder who is supposed to be selling a breed that's recognized as a true purebred breed by the APA (American Poultry Association), then I'd be concerned about whether they were actual purebreds.
You can go here:
http://www.ameraucana.org/history.html to the Ameraucana Breeders Club webpage and read up on the history and full descriptions and maybe you'll be able to figure out if you got what you paid for!
Just don't let some internet spelling police convince you because you spelled it wrong you didn't get the pure breed
