The light turns on when I plug it in. Does this mean the thermostat is still ok?

So I have this digital thermometer/hygrometer that reads both indoor/outdoor. Turns out it only reads indoor humidity. So I have to put it inside the incubator. The glass I put on top is terrible and I can't read the temp. Will have to find a new piece of glass!

Shifty Joe, I looked all over for that post. That one has the diagram that I followed after I read the written instructions from MissPrissy. Good job posting that link. It is a keeper for all of us that are not entirely comfortable with wiring things.

You will want to be able to see in there when the eggs start to hatch so replace the glass now when there are no eggs in there. That way there will be no temptation to open the 'bator just so you can see the chickies. I used plexiglass on mine, easier to cut.

Good luck with that. Don't be surprised if you find the temps swing from pretty low to pretty high. The hot water heater thermostats tend to not hold the temps as steady. But I've had tons of hatches with my old Miss Prissy bator...so they do work. Just sayin' that it can be frustrating to get the temp steady.
