I just have to Vent

I always liked this line..

Those of you who think you know everything....

Are very annoying to those of us who do.

Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool,
than to open it and remove all doubt.

I can cope with people being wrong about something. Dozens of times I've read or been told things that I considered gospel until they were proven wrong. Though, nothing so severe as insisting that ducks were chickens or hounds were Yorkies.

The sort of ignorance I don't like is the close-mindedness I come across all the time when dealing with people who have animals. No matter what, all of us have our own way of doing things. We do things this way because we think it's the best way, for whatever reason, and usually it isn't a big deal if someone else does the same thing a little differently.

That's not so with some people who raise animals. Their way isn't only the right way, it's the only way. What's more, anyone who doesn't do it that way is _abusive_ since you're putting the animal through untold amounts of...whatever crosses their mind...just because you didn't do it their way.

I've had people get huffy because, but not limited to, the following things:

I didn't feed a certain brand of food.
I free ranged my chickens.
I locked my chickens up at night.
I kept turkeys and chickens penned together.
I wasn't adding vitamin supplements to the drinking water.
I wasn't adding _bleach_ to the drinking water to keep them healthy.
I didn't butcher my animals a certain way.
I didn't have a vet come out and inspect my birds every three months.

Nine times out of ten there will be more than one way to accomplish any given thing. The attitude of "If you don't do it my way you're being abusive" is horrible and, well, ignorant.

I guess close-mindedness is more irritating to me than being wrong. After all, if you're wrong you can always learn. If you're determined to block out advice and swear by everything you say then you're probably a lost cause.

End rant.

I have a very hard time sometimes refraining from saying "ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?" I don't pretend to be better than anyone, but come on people!

I went to the feed store and bought 2 50# bags of feed. I pulled my car up to the front door and waited forever for the guy to bring it out from the stock room. He finally comes out with one bag on his shoulder. I said "I paid for 2 bags."
He rolled his eyes and turned around and SERIOUSLY walked back inside with the bag on his shoulder. He came back a few minutes later with a dolly and two bags!

My beef is with education of today. About 12 years ago, the Bill of Rights came to a town about 180 miles away from our home. We took our children out of school that day to go and see it. It was a tremendously educational experience, and I would recommend it to anyone.

The principal of our school wanted to give our kids an unexcused absence, and give them 0's for that day. I protested, and tried to tell her that this was a very good experience for our kids. She argued with me, and even had the gall to ask me just what this "Bill of Rights" actually is. I went to the library and got a copy of it, and she said, "It sounds to me like some kind of Communistic/Nazi writing".

There was really nothing that I could say to her. She is beyond help. Thankfully, she is no longer in the ecucation field.

FYI: The Bill of Rights is a part of our national Constitution, and outlines the rights that we as citizens have. The ten original articles were hand written on parchment paper, and there are several of the originals in existence. They should be required reading for every teacher/pupil in our public schools.

Why do we not teach our highschool students to write a resume? Or how to interview? What NOT to say in an interview. What NOT to wear to an interview.

Getting a job 101.

Leave the kids at home. No flip flops. No visible underwear. No soda. No ear thingy musical stuff! No cell phones.

Don't tell me that the reason for leaving your last job was "Because I was accused of flicking a booger in the french frier."

Am I old fashioned?

I have open interviews on Monday.

I hope Sunday goes slowly....

Maybe we could also teach them to read a map... or how to add/subtract without a calculator.. or how to SPELL (although I forsee the next generation spelling U (you) R (are) text style, etc. Drives me crazy. Can you not type the word, or do you NOT know how to spell it?
You should see some of the applications I get (at Subway) I just pitch 'em.

Hi everyone,
May I add my 2cents worth? Everyone gets really ticked about stupid people who are just plain dumb. Well, what do you do when a person is not only stupid, but mean spirited as well?
Last night I was so mad I couldn't sleep because my $%^$#@ neighbors were shooting their $%^& pellet gun and they have hurt my dogs and cats in the past.

Nothing is being done about these rotten forms of life and lord how it makes me so mad I could really get violent.

And yet, I am a gentle, soft spoken person.
I am now waiting for a chance to take a picture of them shooting their *&^ pellet gun at my cat's. That way, I have proof, and I am going to their landlord with it. Police won't do anything about it here.

Their landlord tells us we just need to deal with it outselves. Idiot anyway. Well, I am going to deal with it my own way I guess.
Just goes to show you what happens when you push someone just a straws length to far.
Thanks for listening to me everyone. I really appreciate the posts. Makes me realize I am not alone.
