i just inherited a bunny, now what? **update: i'm keeping her** PICS

I vote mini rex. If she's around the 4 pound mark that's what she is. And her color/variety is "castor"

Please make sure that your coop is extremely well ventilated. Ammonia and dust can cause serious respiratory problems in rabbits. Ammonia at levels you can't detect by smell can harm rabbits.

If your chickens are housed in a large open barn with lots of airflow, then the bun will be ok. But if you're going to make it live in a small coop with chickens, digging in the dust and manure, I'd recommend giving it to a good home immediatey.

I like the name Velvet..reminds me of The Velveteen Rabbit

You definitely have a mini-rex!

a.k.a. Velveteen rabbit. :bunShe is very cute. I have a Flemish Giant buck that is free roam and lives with a silkie rooster and a mini pygmy goat...they are my three amigos! They hang out, play and sleep together!

Since your bun is a girl, she will dig holes, but should be fine if you don't mind holes in your yard. Free roam bunns are happy bunns!

She looks like a Hazel...with the mix in colors in her coat.

I wish our buns could free roam. I'm afraid of predators though, plus it is winter now and I like them in the house.

But I like the idea of them playing and running all day.

We have a rescue bunny that we let out of his pen to roam in the yard every so often. He came from a batch that all thier names were food oriented, his name is oreo (though my family calls him monty because he makes a growling noise) the others were butterscotch, and cadbury. I wish mine was a lucky as yours to be able to roam more but I'm always worried about predators. Congrats on such a beautiful bunny!
