I just LOVE her (or him...)

This is Twinkie, our first successful bator hatchling. She (I sure hope it's a she) is a little gold laced wyandotte from our hen and roo. She has imprinted on me and since her sibling is still inside an egg she is quite needy, and is sleeping in my hair as I type. She is so much more loving than any day old chick I've ever bought ... melts your heart!

I know of only 2 places locally to get day old chicks from. They both sell "straight run" chicks. My track record is 80% males from one fellow, my friend's average was 73% males from the other... maybe it's just our honest bad luck, but I'd just as soon get hatching eggs from now on, that I KNOW nobody has picked the females out of!!!

If anyone needed another reason to get an incubator maybe that will do? lol!
