I just noticed the comb on one of my EEs!

At 20 weeks old, she is the first of my EE pullets to have a big red comb! Hoping she lays soon!!

She's a pretty one...

I'm still confused about a couple of mine as to what sex they are.

I have one that crows and he has a blunt kind of end tail. So I know it's a boy... it crows.

I have 2 that have 2 long feathers on their tails... does that signify a boy? I have not seen them crow? But my 8 year old said she saw one of them crow and it was really funny.

So how do we tell boy and girl ee's apart??

She is pretty! My EE and true Ameraucanas do not have that big of a comb...They are 21 weeks old and 26 weeks old and none have very red combs... Let us know when your girl lays, I'll be so jealous.. I can hardly wait until my lay...

Thank you uppity peon... I'm almost tempted to go outside with a flashlight and look at them again. ha ha. I was staring at them a lot today wondering.

We started getting a pale egg when most of our layers are brown but it didn't have any green or blue tint to it so I think it was another hen.

I can't wait for my girls to find a colored egg.


Did you hatch your ee's or buy them as chicks?


I was gifted a couple of eggs from a fellow BYC member, Bluey. I'm really happy with them. His birds have beautiful markings.

I sure do like your ee's coloring.
