I just ordered my chicks!!!

I'm so excited!

Yesterday my Mom took me to our feed store to order new chicks!!! Somewhere, I have claims on ten eggs in an incubator!!!

I'm getting ten Gold Links – I have two one-year-old Golds right now.

As you may be able to tell – I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

May 11th is 'The Day.'

Can't wait to post pics of my new baby girls!!!!

Oh, thank you! I really am so happy! It's fun to think they're in an incubator somewhere. They're probably on day 2 – their hearts start beating today!

Today my chicks get feather germs on their tails, their eye scleras start to form, feather papillae appear on their thighs, and their legs bend at their knees! Only fifteen more days 'til I can hold them in my hands!

Yes, I'm excited. Can't you tell?

It's so nice to read about others being excited about their chicks' arrival! I'm still figuring out when I will get my chicks and from where, but they are in my close future I hope!

Aaahhh! Four more days! Tomorrow my Dad is going to get the brooder out and I'll probably start monitoring temperature. We're brooding them in the shed in our backyard this time, so the temperature should be an exciting thing to figure out!

Today or tomorrow, my chicks break through the inner shell membrane and their lungs begin to function.
