They were doing fine, still moving around, and I checked on them often so they wouldn't shrinkwrap, but they died anyway. Makes me wish I had just broken the membrane, too....or left them alone in the first place. So, all in all this was a bad hatch. Started with 15 eggs, went down to 8 after a week, and only 1 of those hatched. I'll try to put up a pic of her (I'm being optimistic) later today.
So, time to clean out the bator and get it ready for the next hatch. I have Serama and bantam Mille Fleur Cochin eggs being shipped this week. I know shipped eggs don't usually have a good hatching rate, but I'm determined to have a better hatch this time!

Sorry to hear that.
I have 8 out now. The other 3 eggs haven't pipped yet, I can hear one chirping, but not the other 2. Mommas still sitting on them so hopefully I'll see something more promising soon.
1 more pip. And I think my silkie/game pullet is going broody. She's been hanging around the nest boxes and whenever I come near her she fluffs up, drops her wings, fans out her tail like a teeny turkey and screeches at me. My last broodies were sweet. She kind of scares me, even though she is my smallest chicken. She has attitude, I see her out in the yard chasing the ducks all the time just to make them run. It was really funny when I had my 2 jumbo pekins. 5 ducks running from one teeny 1lb and a half chicken. I've had a rooster about 3 weeks, think I'm going to crack open one of hers to see if they are fertile. He's a big barred rock mix, so I would love to see what hatches out if they are, lol. Although a chicken his size with her attitude would give me nightmares.
I lost 22 out of my 24. At least two made it.
I probably drowned them with a too high of humidity at the end.
I got some wrong information.
If I do this again, I will research alot more before hand.
