Hey Laurajean, nice job on the adoption - as I mentioned to you, we adopted a new girl the same day you emancipated your neighbor's girl.
As promised, here are the pix of our addition. She's still segrated with two of the others that the BR's bully, but the trio is relaxed and laying well.

Wow, yours looks just like mine, and on the same day no less! I did get your messages by the way, I'm not sure why you didn't get my reply. I think this is a pretty cool coincidence.

Thanks everyone. She's doing great! I go out there every day and she's just running around with the other chickens like she's one of them, it's thrilling to see them accept her so well and vise versa. And she's laying like crazy! Of course, I'll be giving all her eggs to the neighbor/former owner, but she is a prolific layer, that's for sure. She loves to sit in the doorway of the chicken coop and just "hang out". She's doing fantastic. Going to bring the neighbor this weeks eggs today actually. She seems so happy to have a chicken family again.

Hey everyone, listen to this. Today I brought the eggs from Henrietta over to the neighbors. They weren't home, I just left them on the doorstep as we had agreed to do. But as I walked outside of my house, I saw this bright purple thing at the end of my driveway. I was wondering what the heck it was. It was tied to a sign post that's at the end of my driveway. It's my sign post, I just never put a sign on it. Anyway, I approached and saw it was a star shaped mylar balloon that said "A BIG THANK YOU!" on it with bright stars and ribbons hanging from it.

I'm wondering if it's from them, because I can't imagine who else would do that, unless someone was just being silly and stuck it there. But if it is from them, isn't that awesome!?!?!

PS: I also put a note with the eggs that said, "These are from Henrietta with love. She seems very happy and runs around with my chickens and has a good time. Thank you for helping me keep her safe".

Wow! So sweet of you and your neighbors, if it was in fact them.

Yeah, six eggs since I got her Tuesday, pretty good, huh? She really does seem happy. I know that sounds sappy, but you should see her running around out there with the others, it's so cute. It's like she's saying "Hey, I got pals now!"

If it was them who left the Thank You balloon, I suspect it was probably the boyfriend and not the chicken partner. The boyfriend seems more thoughtful that way, he's given me little gifts before when I watch their house, etc.
