I kid you not! Toxic Toad!

Our good 'ol Iowa toads aren't fatally toxic, but my dog grabbed one as a pup and he foamed at the mouth for a good half hour, watched as I laughed at him, then walked over and bafred all over my feet.

He was a little queasy for a while, but no lasting effects. and needless to say, he got his revenge

LOL I am not sure I would have given my dog leash over to toad on a rope. I would have seen what toad on a rope held onto when being spun in a huge circle over my head.... or maybe hung the leash up and seen if it was still attatched in the morning. How ODD!!! I would have hardly believed it without piuctures! They should call it a goat frog...

Hey I have that same leash!

I remember the Bufo marinus issues in Florida I worked with wildlife for a while. Nasty nasty creatures.

Do the Sonoran toads go up to Prescott? or am I safe from them?

They are just desert toads. They are drawn in by lights; they will sit under the porch lights and eat bugs. Just leave them alone and they will go away until the next rain or irrigation.

In Spanish toads are bufo and frogs are rana. They are just some of the natural fauna that adapt to living with humans.

I have seen more this year than in the last two monsoon seasons, I think because it has been a drier monsoon they are looking for water. My dog was playing with one when I got home the other night, I was able to shoo it away before she ate it however she threw up a lot all over the yard for two days before she felt better. I really hope they stay away from my little dogs
