I killed a deer!

In Pennsylvania today, tomorrow, and Saturday is youth doe season. I shot my fourth deer today. My brother missed a big doe, and I shot one of its babies. I am uploading a picture now.

We haven't started hunting yet. We only hunt during black powder and rifle season.

Here's the little doe:

When we skinned her out, we saw two holes that looked like someone tried shooting at her with a .22 rifle. Oh, I killed her with my .243 Remington.

Hunting is awesome.

My dad wouldn't ever take me deer hunting with him (I'm a girl -- well, woman now

). I realized later (when I was older) that it had more to do with who was at deer camp and what they did there than him not wanting to take me with him...

My dad has always believed in both men and women hunting so he taught me and my brother. I feel really sorry for my brother, tonight he was supposed to kill his first deer. I let him take the first shot to give him a chance, but he got excited and missed the big doe. Her and her baby jumped the fence and ran off. Her other baby ran after them and stopped. I aimed and took the shot. I'm very excited!
