I know about late hatches but how common are premature hatches?

They had detached membranes so I propped them up and did not turn them between days 8 -10. I put them in egg cartons and merely swiveled them from side to side afterwards. I stopped turning again on day 17. I was so sure nothing would hatch that I gave up and called it a lockdown. So I let them be on the night of day 17. They started pipping at 3:00 am on the morning of day 19...

So, not turning them actually promoted hatchability? Do you think that was what did it?

if you had been moving them them stopped close to lockdown they would think its time to hatch.
i always let shipped eggs sit for 24 hours so they will settle and it gives the aircells time to move back and attach it possible.

My last batch hatched all on the 19th and 20th of their hatch days. A few hatched in the early hours of the 21st because they shrink wrapped under my overexcited hen. (she ket getting up to look at them… like all us and our bator XD)

I was surprised too =)
