I believe his question was “what do I do with this?” Not, lets gather everyone’s opinions then hen peck if it isn’t our view. Grow up.

There is a search engine here discussing the deformity and much more. If people used it instead before posting, it would not give opportunity for hate here nor question others opinions. Don’t question me about genetics either. Read and research before you start bashing. I don’t do it to you, don’t do it to me please. My motto is, Like if you like and carry on if you don’t. People will do what they like anyway.

... Can you please follow your own motto? I didn't quote you. I didn't tag you. I said nothing to you. I have never even seen you before - who are you?

If you thought I was talking to you, I'm sorry. I don't know what gave you that impression. Killing an animal not in pain for aesthetic reasons is not HUMANE.

I've studied genetics all the way up through college; I've done several public presentations on genetics, actually.

Carry on if you don't like my stance. I never said a word to you.

What will you do when the orher ducks begin to peck at it because it is different?
What will you do when they rip it off and it bleeds.. cull it then? Wrap it?
The plan is if it lives, to keep it with the grow outs who won't be able to reach the top of his head very easily. If that doesn't work he will have his own pen built and have a Serama or spent hen as a companion. If neither work out, I shall attach a millenry feather-pad to his head with hair extension glue. I’m not sure who you’re referring to but I would cull the duck simply because he has a foot growing out of his head. It’s not the popular opinion I know.
Birds can take more inbreeding but they will eventually develop inbreeding depression if continued too long. This is proven. Birds can develop reproductive problems, weak immune systems, lack size and strength and just generally aren’t as fit as they should be.
Doesn’t anyone wonder why they’re constantly medicating birds? Losing entire flocks within a week?
I suppose some people like playing doctor but it’s all short sighted. I do understand keeping a pet alive but when you find yourself treating every bird on your yard something is definitely wrong.
I have kept chickens since I was 15, thats over 20 years.(waves fist in air from rocking chair on porch)However this is the first year I have had more than 10. I have never really needed to medicate my chickens before, just vaccines and an occasional wormer. I often end up replacing the contents of my first chickie aid kit because it expires. They way I collect eggs for incubation, it is nearly impossible that I have EVER inbred chickens. I select breeders and toss them in a special pen for nookie time, collect the eggs and hatch them. If anyone is hooking up with their sister or whatever, those eggs get eaten so it doesn't matter. The fact that you would bring up "losing a whole flock in a week" and "medicating every bird in the yard" etc etc to support your inbreeding theory is hurtful. Those were 80% chicks I purchased else where (Gold Feather) and the very first time I'd delt with contagious chicken illnesses. You are either accusing me or Goldfeather Farms of severely inbreeding to the point of animals being unable to thrive. I'd like to see proof to support your hypothosis, or appology
