Also pit bulls aren’t even allowed in Australia and a quick Google search shows tons of breeders of bull terriers in Australia so clearly not everyone calls them pits

They’re totally different breeds though. That’s not the same at all. Lots of people call Labrador Retrievers “Labs” and that’s fine cause it’s just a shortened version of the name. But calling anything with a big, blocky head a “pit bull” (which people also do here, not uniquely an Australian thing), is NOT. It would be like just saying “retriever” when in fact there are many separate retriever breeds and they are not the same thing.

If I walked around calling my dog a Pit bull, and somebody didn't like that, he could EASILY be taken away (just cuz..) even though he isn't a pit bull.

I didn’t I just stated that they looked different to what I am familiar with as being a pit bull....

im starting to think that people on here are not allowed to have a different opinion to any thing...

not everyone has been educated correctly this I agree with... maybe it’s more our government

and I did get it wrong that other dog looked more of an American staffy
but then again I could be wrong on that too.... seems to be the only thing I am on this forum... no matter what I post or say I’m wrong....

It’s literally not an “opinion.” There are breed standards for a reason.... I can’t just take my chihuahua and call him a Great Dane cause I feel like it and hey, breed standards and proper names don’t matter, right?

No I said in Australia our Pitt bulls looked different and posted the picture that is what I have Been raised to know as a pit bull...

if I was educated wrong then that’s not on me.... that’s on those who educated me...
