I have My Jersey Giants who one lays a very light brown egg and the other is VERY pink.

I have a partridge silkie that just started laying this last week, and she lays a nice, pink egg. I also have an EE/American game cross that lays a pink egg... WHEN she lays. She goes broody when the wind blows. She just hatched a chick for us today, in fact.

One of my Black Java's (a brown layer) has consistently laid mauve colored eggs - not brown, not purple, not pink - but such a lovely lavendarish color...just cannot figure out who it is though!

Kinda looks the same color that we have gotten from one of our girls. All of our chickens are MUTTS, the only way we will have it around here.

We do mutt dogs, cats, chickens and whatever else comes along, NO purebred anything for us.

Gritsar.....my Light Brahma is 6 months old. She used to let me handle her rather easily and lately has been a bit stand-offish. Don't know what's up. She is a gorgeous thing (the one in my pic).
