There are bantam sized Ameraucanas. If you go to http://www.ameraucana.org/index.html you can get a lot of info on them. You could PM alicefelldown and see if she is breeding LF or bantam. I wish I had the room and hens for a second roo if you don't want hers! I would love to have that roo even with the red leakage!
ETA - you could also PM Cloverleaf Farm. She/he breeds bantam Ameraucanas.

Is there any chance that the lack of color is because she just started laying?
None at all. The shade of the color can change with age, but the eggs will not change from white to blue or green.


Actually, when my pure ameraucanas (from very high quality breeders) first started laying, the egg was definitely what I would call green, leaning towards the teal side for sure. Now that they have settled into production and are laying everyday, the eggs are definitely blue. When I had one go broody, the first eggs after that pause were back to a really saturated green teal. Now they have faded back to blue. It's like the green factor is diluting as the process goes on. If I was truthful, I would say that my eggs change from green to blue.

Now, you are very right in that a white egg layer is not going to change to blue or green or brown. A brown egg layer is not going to change from brown to white or green or blue. But blue is a VERY subjective color and can change wildly in hue.

If it helps, one of my EEs lays a brown egg. I thought the slacker wasn't laying for the longest time. I finally caught her on the nest and saw her lay this light brown egg.

Probobly. By gray do you mean likr the back ground to our posts gray or just SLIGHTLY off white gray... PICS NEEDED plz

when you cracked her egg open what color was the inside of the egg shell?

Have you gotten more than one egg from her? I ask this for a very important reason. I have only brown egg layers. My first egg was off-white. Apparently they can lay an egg without the tint. Her second egg and every one after that have been nice and brown. I have not gotten another white egg and its been over a month (not sure exactly how long). I get up to 8 eggs a day and thats how many pullets/hens I have. I didn't think it was possible but I posted on here and someone told me that when first laying until everything is sorted out inside they can lay an egg without tint.

I got an EE from a swap in Fon du Lac, WI this spring and she lays white too. But the one I got from Amherst, Wi this spring has blue. It has to be a genetic thing. Bred into that line.
