I know what color blue is, and this isn't it!

Inside of shell is same color, very light gray/white. I took a picture of that too. Just need to load these pictures onto my computer... I also had a brown egg layer whose first couple eggs were a very light brown in color with speckles on them and then they darkened up. I'm hoping that maybe this hen's eggs will take on more hue, but so far she's laid three eggs and they are all the same.

Ok, here's a picture of Yoda, the bantam EE hen.

And here is a bowl of eggs with the two "white" ones being Yoda's.

Well, it sort of looks like a greenish tint to me, but that could be the photo. I understand that you want a deeper shade, though. I'm thinking if you put your EE's egg next to a truly white egg (like from a Leghorn), it would appear more greenish, if that is any consolation. I would hold out hope that it will darken up a bit over time. She's a pretty bird!

They do kind of look bluish/green. But I would be a little mad too. You wait and wait for those EE to lay to see what color it is. I would not want to see white either. But what can you do? She's a cute hen! My Ameraucana finally started laying blue eggs. Oh the thrill! Then went broody. That stinker. Broke her of being broody but we are still waiting after three weeks for an egg. These chickens give me grey hair and I don't need any more of those!

Not sure, but she looks like a D'Uccle cross to me. Her comb, cheeks, even her feathered feet say she is a D'Uccle mix. Very pretty bird though. They also lay a white/creamy colored egg. Just a thought.

This is Robin, the EE. She lays a brown egg. She has what looks like a pea comb. She also has slate legs. She came from My Pet Chicken as an ameraucana. No blue egg gene in there!

Robin looks like our Ladyhawk who is laying very light blue eggs. Also have two white EE's, one is laying light blue eggs...still waiting on #3 to lay, this one looks like Ameraucana, she is solid white with bluish legs.

All of mine have the pea comb. Ladyhawk has dark legs, #2 is white with greenish legs.
