I like Humans a Little less Everyday...

If not for the Princess, I would be a hermit.

I have always felt like an alien among humans. Animals, I understand.

I have felt like that also all my life thats why I want a farm just the animals and me and the family of course.

Sometimes my car sits for a week. I only go out if I have to. We have a few great friends but I enjoy being on here and outside with my chickens, goats and dogs. I don't like to around people most of the time. either.

I work in a big box store in a position that gives me the "power" (if you can even call it that) to say yes or no. All day long I give breaks/lunches and get walked on by customers. I think it was Macy's that came up with the adage "The customer is ALWAYS right" Well that is so not true. I get so tired of bending the rules to make customers "happy". I swear people just complain to get a what they want. It makes me look bad when I'm just following the rules. I'm sorry but I'm only doing my job and try to do it to the best of my ability. Yes customer service is number one, but cut me some slack... When your wrong your wrong. This is why I like Humans a Little less Everyday. I would LOVE to have a backyard and some chickens to call upon when I'm having a bad day but sadly I don't. Not yet that is

I might live in an apt. but my friend is lending me her backyard

We are super excited to get started on our little flock!

If I didn't have to go grocery shopping, pay my bills, and buy the chick feed, I'd never leave home, which would be just fine with me! Staying home is really what I want to do.

My thinking EXACTLY! I always wonder if I'm some kind of rare breed of human who just doesn't have a desire to be around tons of people or have many friends. I prefer my little herd and my own flock lol Thank goodness hubby is the same.

i think i'm that rare breed of human too.

Me too...I swear I'm the only one my age around here that doesn't sit in the bar all weekend partying. I'd rather sit at home with the critters than be surrounded by idiots

Me too! I am 26 and the people I work with are city people. They all think I am weird. I rescued a injury Cardinal on my way to work one morning and you would have thought I brought in some exotic animal. They just have the joys of nature and wildlife nor do they understand it. I brought in some milk I have put in a jar with a lid so it wouldn't spill. When I got to work I couldn't get it open so I asked my boss to open it for me. His response "what kind of animal did this come from?"

We may be weird to others because we enjoy peace, quiet, & nature, but wait until technology ceases to function. They will be knocking on our doors to ask what are we going to eat?

The people I work with think a great morning starts with Sports Talk radio very loud!

It makes me crazy! My idea of a great morning is sitting on my deck with a cup of hot tea listening to the sounds of the chickens chatting and scratching, watching the ducks mingle with the wild Canada geese on the lake and just having a moment of peace!

I love you weird people! This thread makes me think how much I would love to quit my job and just live off the land and be completely self sufficient. Someday!
