I like Humans a Little less Everyday...

Me too...I swear I'm the only one my age around here that doesn't sit in the bar all weekend partying. I'd rather sit at home with the critters than be surrounded by idiots

Me too! I am 26 and the people I work with are city people. They all think I am weird. I rescued a injury Cardinal on my way to work one morning and you would have thought I brought in some exotic animal. They just have the joys of nature and wildlife nor do they understand it. I brought in some milk I have put in a jar with a lid so it wouldn't spill. When I got to work I couldn't get it open so I asked my boss to open it for me. His response "what kind of animal did this come from?"

ummm a cow....

This thread makes me realize there are more of me

We may be weird to others because we enjoy peace, quiet, & nature, but wait until technology ceases to function. They will be knocking on our doors to ask what are we going to eat?

The people I work with think a great morning starts with Sports Talk radio very loud!

It makes me crazy! My idea of a great morning is sitting on my deck with a cup of hot tea listening to the sounds of the chickens chatting and scratching, watching the ducks mingle with the wild Canada geese on the lake and just having a moment of peace!

I love you weird people! This thread makes me think how much I would love to quit my job and just live off the land and be completely self sufficient. Someday!

I'll buy the lot right next to ya lol

We don't socialize much at all some family and the stores thats about it.

I'm so there with everyone!!! If I didnt have to pay the bills I would be in my little house or on my little farm all day long!

Working with the public makes me like humans less every day and sometimes dealing with family too!

My MIL got busted last weekend DWI and was lucky that the cop didnt charge her with possession on top of it (not her first btw). My younger brother was killed by a drunk driver 7 years ago. He was just shy of his 18th birthday. Now I'm the horrible DIL for not wanting to talk to the woman ever again.

I'd stay on my farm all the time if I could but unfortunately I was raised to work my behind off to make a living. Darn my parents for instilling good values and ethics in me

This is the first time I almost felt the need to apologize because there are so many incredible, passionate, enthusiastic and - ethical people in my life, people who lend a hand to me even though I'm an old nobody, LOL.

Awww....Welsummerchicks don't let us get you down. I am so glad there are people who bless your life. I love the few people closest to me who have similar value of life! I just see so much ugliness outside my tiny bubble.

I here you, bt03, about those dang values those dang parents had to teach us!

I found a little 5 acre farm and you could not see another house any where I was so happy I just loved it now if only I had the money to buy it. I send my DS to do any errands I need done. I just stay home. There are just to many mean people out there. I have a special needs daughter who is 22 but has the mentality of about 6-13 year old depends on what it is, to many so called adults see her with me in the store and make mean and hurtful comments like why don't you grow up she wishes she could she is mentally challenged thanks to family member who hit her in the head with a skillet when she was little. The family member is no longer part of my family. People are just mean and hurtful now days. I said excuse me to some one and they yelled at me for even to dare talk to them. I like my home...

That's exactly what I want

And that's exactly my problem!

Schellie69, reading you post made me want to cry and makes me like the human race even less! God bless you!

To those 'adults' who make those terrible comments, just turn and walk away from them without a word. They deserve nothing from you.

Wow, this sounds like something I recently said to my DH. I don't get it. I have noticed many times that cashiers are friendly to the people in front of me, and then they go to check me out and don't say anything - not even 'thank you'. I'm not paranoid, this has definitely happened many times to me. I just don't get it. I mean, I'm 5' 9" and not skinny but not huge, but not the prettiest person, but I don't think the ugliest person. I try to dress OK, but I'm not a fashionista. I don't understand.

I am a Psych Nurse, which I think is partly due to me not wanting to be around "mainstream" people. I don't know if this makes sense or not, but I'd seriously rather be around Schizophrenics then "regular people". I think I understand my patients more than I understand most other people!

My dream is to someday live somewhere rural where I don't have to leave my home more than once a week or so. I am very much an introvert, and I don't need all kinds of people to hang out with. I do, however, have one very good "animal" friend which understands me completely!!! She is into her horses, and I'm into my chickens!
