I like to know if my rooster is sick

My rooster was all black with a little color around his neck.one day i went out to check on them and my rooster has white growing in around his neck.he is not a yr old yet,will be in april.my profile photo is my rooster,if that can help.Thank you

Could the white be new feathers growing in? New feathers come in as quills with a white sheath on them.

I wouldn't worry if I were you. CMV is right. Probably just new feathers. Could you show us a picture? It doesn't look like you have an avatar.

Sounds like pin/blood feathers. If he sort of looks like a porcupine it's just new feathers growing in after the molt. Edited to :
