I live in a small village on the coast called Bolinas in California, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. There is no real government here, just the Water Board and the School Board. The sheriff hangs around on the weekend but just to help out when somebody gets too drunk. I have an 18 bird flock for me and my son - and a few neighbors. We also trade with the local restaurant (we have one - only one - in town), eggs for credit in the restaurant. The village is surrounded by parkland so it stays small - about 2,200 population during the busy summer. I love living here! And so does my chickens.
