I lost a great customer today :(

She's a customer first. Then you became friendly. Your business is your livelyhood. Don't give your tips away.

Where do you live?? Come work for me instead...

Your right I know what to do.

Please excuse me, if I sounded like I was the only person in the world, Who knows how to clean a house.. A Lot of people do.
But Just like, whatever your job is, I am sure you can do it better then me. People who have done one thing, for many years, often learn tricks to do it better/faster.

I often thought of opening a bussiness to teach people how to clean a house. Cause you know what, before someone showed me, I didn't know how. And I am sure, I'm not the only one.. There's an order, that's right, to make it faster.

.

Honestly, the "cleaning tips" things is just silly...
Any ding bat can find a zillion cleaning tips on line ... or anywhere... or just use simple common sense.. (Yeah, i looked, cause i hate cleaning too)
The simple fact is: She hired you because she did NOT want to clean her own house... (same as me..

Dont worry.. if she gets more income, she'll be calling you again...

I think giving the tips helps you. You keep a friend, and you help someone. You might also please her enough to recommend you to her friends. Most people who live in $500,000 homes do not clean them by themselves. They also have friends in the same income bracket, who also don't clean their own homes. When Sally says at bunco that her cleaning lady is late all the time, your client gets to chime in with a recommendation.

If I had the money, I would never clean my own home. Yes, I know how; however, it gives me no pleasure and is a chore every single time.

I tell you what...If I had to cut expenses somewhere it would NOT be my cleaning lady..( I dont have one but dang I wish I did!) I'd stop eating out...cut cable...anything but the cleaning lady...as a last resort..then I would cut you...Sorry thats how I feel...Do you travel?

I live in the boonies-no one would travel out here to clean my house!

Give your friend your tips of the trade...As many suggested, once she gets back on her feet-Im sure she'll call you back!

I work for a property management company in housekeeping and believe me, if I could afford it right now, I'd hire a housekeeper/cleaning service in a heart beat-I HATE cleaning my own house.
Give your friend some tips and tell her if she needs cleaning services again, to call you first! Once she is back on her feet, she will, I assure you. You've provided a good service and become her friend.
You'll do the right thing.
