I lost Lucky Ducky today:( but.....

I found a nest with 10 egg from him and Mama duck. I don't know how long they have been there, I cracked one and there is a bulls eye. I put them in the incubator do you think they will hatch? So today was a total mix of emotions, he must have been grabbed by a hawk only a moderate amount of down feathers found a small amount of blood and no trace of him. Mama is okay but she can fly so maybe she got away? She seems so sad now. These are my first eggs by the way.

I am so sorry! Ive never lost a duck to anything but a dog, but its alwas hard. I hope they hatch for you! It will be great to have something of his bloodline.
