I love BANTAMS.... I hate STRAIGHT RUNS.... What do I do??

I love my bantam assortment but getting to this point was like swimming in mud! I ordered my chicks last fall from McMurray. The "25 Assorted Cochin Bantams+1 free rare chick" arrived at the Allentown P.O. on President's day (the coldest day in 2007). I am still stunned that they don't have package tracking on these fragile helpless chicks. Shame on you MMH! Well when we arrived home we ladeled them into the chick ring with the heat lamps fired up and an industrial rubber heat mat under the litter. There seemed to be ALOT of chicks.
After trying to count their busy little fluffy bodies, I fianally got the digital camera, took a picture and inventoried the flock. THIRTY ONE.. My story is being developed into a blog-I just love these nutsy birds!

Hopefully you could give them away, as suggested probably craigslist, or the feedstore. Also try freecycle if there is a group in your area (search yahoo groups). Some allow animals.

I had the reverse problem. I wanted a few roos, but not large ones. (After reading posts where large roos protected the hens from dogs, etc. I wonder if I SHOULD have gotten standard roos.) I ordered standard pullets, and some bantams, hoping I would get several roos in there, but not really wanting bantam hens.

Maybe there are others like me out there, who would gladly take bantam roos from you. (I THINK I have my 3 now, which should be enough, LOL).

Best of luck with them!
