I love my chickens

I hope your little one will be alright. Generally if they are born with the yolk sac attached, the chick is put somewhere (box etc. to keep other chicks from bothering it. ) They get their nourishment from the yolk sac that enables them to be shipped as day olds without needing a feeding for up to 3 days. As a chick absorbs the sac, it will dry up and detach on it's own.

My sweet girl still has not used the bathroom. I am making sure she drinks every 2 hours but the only substance she has had is some egg yolk i mixed with water earlier. She has been out about 30 hours now so this is bothering me. She does not have pasty butt so I'm not sure what to do.

Last night during her midnight checkup she seemed to have more energy and then at 4am she was actually awake and trying to peck her starter food which is a first. She also pooped just a little which is great. I will take the rubberband thing off her legs today and pray she can walk correctly. I think we have named her Hope since I kept saying I hope she lives. I am already so grateful for this group of chicken lovers.

That is promising news!

It may take a bit longer for her legs to come right, so don't worry if she's not able to walk properly today already. She may need a bit more time. I love the name... Hope. I had a rescued chick a few years ago, that we named Hope.

She was not able to walk today but we will keep trying. It is so sad to watch her but I am already so in love with her I will continue to get up every fews hours to take care of her. I will keep you posted. Thank you all again :D:D

Unfortunately she is still not walking. I do believe she has 2 slipped tendons. Also I was just feeding her and i noticed that she has this bubble like thing started to come out from the side of her neck. I have no idea what is wrong with her now. I am not sure if I should continue trying or put her to sleep. When I try and stretch her legs she cries so I hope she isnt in pain but she will have no quality of life.

I'm so sorry to hear this… I think it would be kinder then to put the little one to sleep. All we can do is our best and you tried.
