I also hang my clothes out. I do have to say i prefer the dryer because they are a lot softer but it is kinda relaxing for me to go and hang the clothes up and watch the chickens. They of course think that the basket means that they are going to get feed and come over to watch me. It is kinda funny when you see the disappointment in their eyes when they realize no food lol

I LOVE MY CLOTHESLINE! I agree with the energy savings...I actually save about $20 off my bill every month. I do hat the feelings of my jeans and towels off the line, so I do throw them into the dryer for about 10 minutes after I take them off the line. It really helps take out the stiffness!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE fresh bed linens, sun dried then put on the bed. Climbing in at night is like crawling into sunshine. Mmmmmmm Mmmmmmmm - good sleeping!

My bath towels I put in the dryer for super softness. Pool towels go on the line. Jeans go on the line, every day clothes, too. My DH's work clothes and nicer things go in the dryer.

It is kind of a musical chairs for my laundry as to what goes out and what is put in the dryer.

To me a yard isn't a yard without a clothes line and chickens and cats and dogs and etc, ect. etc.

When I was growing up, my mother never hung anything on a line, she used a clothes drier, and clothes were always soft and fluffy.

However, my grandmother always hung out her clothes, and I so enjoyed watching her do it, and the smell of everything off of it.

But there were some pretty stiff and scratchy clothes, too.

Fast forward *cough cough* decades, and I've been hanging out clothes for a long time, but they never have that scratchy feel.

We do have a nice breeze here, though, most days. Even in the dead of summer, during 115 degree heat wave, at some point in the afternoon, a lovely ocean breeze comes up. (And the temps. immediately drop several degrees. When it stops, the temp. goes immediately back up. It's kind of fascinating to watch. Yes, I'm easily amused! lol!)

Do you really think there's a connection between our nice breezes, and the non-irritating feel of the laundry?

Ahhhh, the smell of sunshine and fresh breezes......I love my clothesline, too!
