Oh, those silkies are so cute!!!

We have great neighbors as well. Last year I was drooling over his chicken tractor, and this spring he pulled up with the tractor and gave it to me

I also feel like his family has done for us WAY more than we have done for them. Sometimes I feel a little guilty, but I know they enjoy being helpful and with their family that is just their way. I try to bring them goodies once in awhile, like fresh cow milk or bread-maybe someday I will be able to pay them back somehow!

Good to read a great neighbor story for a change. I hope you find something nice the kids can do for her in return. Maybe help her with barn chores would be a great thank you.

she's probably just so happy to have somebody appreciate chickens for a change? and she's happy to share?

my neighbors are pretty rad, i wouldn't trade them in at all.

when we got chickens last year i was nervous they'd get angry over the noise they can make. so of course we didn't get a rooster.
then this year they went out and got their own chickens and they tell us they WANT a rooster.
out of the 3 new chicks i just picked up i'm hoping one actually turns out to be a roo.

plus we have a shared driveway and they live behind us, so in the wintertime they plow us out too.

wicked nice people, we were kind of shocked how nice they were. and it is appreciated on this end!
