i love walmart b/c they sell chicken feed

Personally, I havent been inside a Wallyworld in about 4 years. Bottom line is that a full 10% of our national trade deficit with China can be traced thru your local Walmart Store. That in itself is enough to keep me from buying from Walmart.

With that said, yes, a huge amount of their pet food products can be traced back to china, as well as a large percentage of people food. China simply doesnt have the quality control of their exported food supplies to make me feel safe buying. Everything from dogfood to infant formula that has been imported from china has already made the news because of contaminates. Think before you spend your money, is saving a few pennies really more important than your personal or your pets health. Buy American, Be American.

sorry for my rant, as you can probably tell, I dont like Walmart.

One of my friends down in Texas said they sale Purina feed at her Wal-mart for horses. Around here all they sale is junk dog and cat food nothing for livestock or chickens. I personally don't care much for Wal-mart at all. I only go there when I need some jeans as the jeans I bought at our Farm and Fleet fall apart faster than the Wal-mart ones.

I thought that was everything else that came from China, I know Old Roy products were manufactured in Manassass, Va. Or they were a couple years ago, that may have changed ? Back to reading the packages.

If you speak to the store manager and can show him that there is a market for a product in your area he will do what he can to get it in if they have the product on their list of approved items. Each store is targeted for the market they are in.

And as for blaming WalMart for the trade deficit, sorry but the last administration is more to blame than they are. Bush inherited a surplus when he took office and in 8 years managed to turn that into a deficit. Another 8 years of Reganomics.

Also they are not the only company to export jobs overseas or across the border. GE and the automakers were among the first to send manafucturing jobs overseas and over the border. Thanks to the unreasonable demands of the unions. And most of the customer service centers for credit cards, etc are now based in India and the Philippines as well.

WalMart was among the first corporations to pull suspected contaminated products off the shelves and demand that their overseas suppliers meet safety standards without prompting from any government or consumer agencies.

ok, just a thought but Clinton signed NAFTA. Bush had to go along with the agreement. BUT I didn't want get political. I didn't like Clinton or Bush.

Obama's promises including revamping NAFTA or getting rid of it for a new trade agreement. I remember him in debates and stabs at Hillary over it.

My wally doesn't sell poultry products but on the defense of the dog food is that they sell BRAND NAMES that you get anywhere. As far as the "dog food instock" it's because NATIONALLY there has been problems and possible problems and there have been "pull and holds" implemented everywhere in the US due to plants having possible salmonella-such as the peanuts from some plant in GA I believe it was. Also before that was definitely China. So it's not only wally selling chinese products. It was Beneful, Purina, Iams, and so on. "Manufactured in" is not always the same as grown and processed in. You'd be surprised reading labels more closely. My mother bought A.J. at stop and shop and it was from Mexico!!! Don't we grow apples here somewhere??!! She was so mad that she dumped it out. Okay-back to the real subject.....

Who knew Wal Mart would stretch their tyrant-of-low-cost-small-business-stealing hands into the world of poultry feed?

My reccomendation would be to not buy your bird's feed from a big box retailer. Stick to your local feed store or free ranging your flock for feed. The quality will no doubt be better. And giving back to mom and pop businesses is better overall for your community. You might pay $2 more a bag but in the long run it'll be well worth it.
