I lvoe my new job, but some calls are just depressing

We are, as my dad loves to say, "self-insuring" IE we pay for everything out of our pockets. We should have done this year ago IMO, my dad was diagnosed as terminally ill about 10 years ago and he's still kickin'. He was paying enormous amounts of money for health insurance that was only covering $200 in prescriptions a YEAR. He takes blood pressure meds that are something like $500 for THREE MONTHS. Yeah, what is the point of the health insurance if its not paying for anything lol.

The prescriptions are not such the big problem, its the fact that I wear glasses and I need dental care and those are big ticket items that aren't covered by OHIP (neither is prescriptions lol).

umm well seeing that the federal government was only established for major things such as wars.... The states have the power to do whatever they want they just choose (so its supposed to be). But state government is just as bad as the federal government and nothing will ever be changed. In my opinion we are just as bad as as these "oppressed" countries that the people are too afraid to have a revolution.

I personally would love to catch up to the other industrialized countries on topics like health care (on which we're doing horribly) and civil rights (which we're doing better with but still lagging). But the people who get angry enough to protest about those things don't seem to be very popular.

It is all dependant on who owns the news providers and what spin they wish to put on a story.... but you are correct, local state gov is just as bad as the feds.....

I can see us de-evolving to the future england isles portrayed in V for vendetta.

People shouldn't fear their government, their government should fear their people. There is a great imbalance in the world now a days. Not America Per se, but in general. The status quo has changed.

Plus me.

Um...the last couple times this happened....the Feds didn't like it too much! The outcome of the Civil War has established Federal Laws superceed State Laws. Federal Marijuana laws superceed state Medicinal Marijuana laws. (But the Feds grow pot....for "research"!)
Voting can be a joke. The only people on the ballots are people SELECTED by the parties....ONLY TWO PARTIES. Both parties have their OWN agendas. Isn't it something like 84% of our countryfolk are MODERATES....and yet our choices are always Bleeding Heart Liberal or Right Wing Conservative? Bipartisan politics don't exactly support a TRULY "democratic" system!!!
Remember the "Freemen"? Groups that don't acknowledge the authority of the federal gov't....yeah well...they're considered 'domestic terrorists' by the Feds. Go figure! lol
England has some CRAZY taxes to pay for their 'free' medical care. But they have to pay "EXTRA" to get care at a PRIVATE hospital.
WHen I had Kaiser, I was another number. Just pumping me and my child through. Collect the co-pay, put us on anti-biotics, you're hypertensive but we'll just "watch it". With a different company's HMO, I have FANTASTIC coverage! Got to see specialists, had surgery, NO out of pocket costs. Then the company decided to go with some kind of 80-20 program! What a JOKE! You could either go with Kaiser (not in my area) HMO OR the 80-20 program. What a joke! We are very grateful to have the insurance/coverage...yet it just gets worse. More money...less services. But I wouldn't go back to Kaiser tho! I KNOW my Drs. They know me and my issues. I get personalized care.
Oh the JOYS of adulthood! I want a refund!!! lol
