I Made A Feeder and A Waterer

I was thinking that I might need to raise the waterer. I've got a block I can sit it on.* I did not cut down the elbows. If they seem unable to use the feeder I'll try that. I tempted them by putting some bits of grass and some mealworms at the entrance.

*Chicken equipment lists never seem to include the exceedingly useful collection of bricks, pavers, and various sizes of concrete blocks that I've found invaluable.

Yeah I saw you had stuff inside the elbow. You can also fill the elbow from the outside, so the feed is up to the corner, if they haven't caught on yet. Then they'll have to keep reaching inside to get the feed.

I hope they'll learn because I'm tired of coming home to see half the contents of the feeder I'd filled in the morning in a pile on the paver I'm using to catch that waste.

Unfortunately, with the Brahmas twice the size of the Wyandottes I have to keep it lower than I might so the big girls can knock more feed out than if it were their optimal height.

Lol I lucked out in that the previous owner left a lot of unused bricks, stones, concrete blocks, etc around. Almost all of them have ended up in the chicken run.
