I Made A Silkie!!!

So, Crazy Chicken Lady that I am, I'm trying to stop myself from collecting even more adorable chickies....so yesterday I crocheted myself an adorable Silkie to cuddle!

I made up the pattern as I went along, and I had a very limited amount of specialty yarn on hand so I couldn't make her quite as fluffy as I would have liked, but I love how she turned out and now I want to make a whole flock of these babies!!!

And in the back of this little flock you can see my darling Buffy, my inspiration!

I already have an entry in the Chicken Art contest....I tried drawing one of my chickens when I saw the contest. I haven't drawn in years but now that I have chickens they're so much fun to do quick sketches of!

As soon as I made her I thought I should definitely start selling them, but as with most things handmade people usually aren't willing to pay much to make up for all the materials, time and labour put into making them.

Maybe chicken crafts are a special niche though? How much do you think she'd sell for?

I do occasionally sell some of my one of a kind crocheted baby clothes and toys.
