I may be taking in a new duck - Quarantine?

I’ve put everyone together today.

Blanca has calmed down a bit, realizing there are too many ducks to possibly poke them all, and that the other ducks will poke her back if she does try anything. Everyone mingles around her, while she stands in the middle and watches.

She followed everyone into the coop tonight. I will not be letting her stay, but it’s a great improvement. I can’t wait ‘til she’s fully acclimated. Her world is going to get a whole lot bigger seeing the rest of the property

I learned that Blanca’s worst wing was caused by a dog attack, not angel wing. Poor girl. I wonder if it’ll ever improve.

She was pretty excited to go out and see the other ducks. She’s been hanging out with them all day. My eldest drake has been slowly following her around.. I think he’s trying to flirt with her!

Massive Update!!!

Blanca just took off with the other ducks down to my pond!!! I thought she’d need a few more days at least, but clearly she’s ready faster than I thought.

Here’s a video I made of her from the past week or so, including today with her running down!

Blanca is fully integrated into the flock. Took about 2 weeks, not too bad! She still has some things to learn, of course..

She seems to prefer hand feeding over eating from a bowl..
She’s getting pretty good at climbing my porch stairs - I think in a day or two, she’ll be a master!
And I haven’t seen her flirt with anyone quite yet, but she does seem interested hanging out with my boy Cherry and his girls.
