I was just on the phone with someone last night talking about building a underground house.

There was an article in our local paper a year or two ago about a young man that lived in a tent on his own land and walked to & from work. If he came across fresh roadkill he 'cleaned' it to put in his supper pot that night. He was a very thrifty young man, and saved almost every bit of his wages.
He'd already paid for his land within a year, and was saving up to build a small cabin. Then he'd marry his girlfriend.

I have a lot of respect for having that much gumption.

We actually looked at a cave house that was for sale. they enclosed the entrance and had a two level home in it. you had two huge dehumidifiers running 24/7 and the sand stone ceiling shed sand every where. the table had a patio umbrella over it to keep the sand out of the food.
